SELECTION CRITERIA?

The Mid Richmond Education Fund is not only focused on  academic success and includes the following criteria:

  •  have a realistic goal
  •  have shown commitment to achieving their goals in the past
  •  need some financial assistance to be able to achieve the goal
  •  are in transition from school to further education or work
  •  live or attend school within the Education Fund community

 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

The Fund assists young people as they make the change from high school to further education,training and employment. The Fund will receive applications from people who are in transition from school to further education or work.

 

WHEN ARE APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED?

Applications are generally received during the months of September and/or October, however, additional rounds may be offered.

 

REPEAT APPLICATIONS?

Applicants will be permitted to apply for grants again in following years at the interview panels discretion.

 

IS CASH ASSISTANCE PROVIDED?

No, the Mid Richmond Education Fund does not give out cash assistance. It will pay for goods and service providers associated with achieving the goal.  As an example the Fund may pay for course fees or enrolment fees to  university or TAFE colleges, text books, equipment associated with courses or employment but will not include items like HECS expenses, car expenses and living expenses such as electricity bills or credit card debts.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF STUDY IS DEFERRED?

The Fund will only consider applicants within the current financial year. Applicants may apply the following year when they return to study or seek work.
